Final Record: 19 - 6
James T. Bogle Invitational Tournament Champion
The Gophers lost the state semi-final game to Magruder in overtime 67-63 at Maryland's new Comcast Center.
The Gophers upset heavily favored Thomas Johnson to win the Regional Final.
It is considered, if not the greatest, then one of the greatest upsets in Maryland High School basketball history.
Mitch Guest moved to 8th on the all time GB leading scorer list.

1994 4A East Region Champion

Final Ranking: 5th in Baltimore Sun, 10th in Washington Post
Final Record: 20 - 5
Springbrook defeated the Gophers 66-64 in the state semi-final game at Maryland's Cole Field House.
Glen Burnie traveled to Annapolis and upset the Panthers 88 - 80, scoring 11 three-pointers to win the regional title.

Coach Bogle:"The week before the game was probably the best I've spent at Glen Burnie. Hearing from the community, students, ex-players and everyone who said they'd be there was great. Then you finally walk into Cole Fieldhouse and see that everyone is there, well you kind of get a lump in your throat."

1961 State Finalist

Final Record: 15 - 4
Blondeau scored 40, but Glen Burnie was defeated by Montgomery Blair in the State Championship game at Maryland's Cole Fieldhouse.
Harold Blondeau received a full scholarship to North Carolina State.
During the season Blondeau set the county scoring record with 44 points; only to have teammate, George Law, break that with 45 points a week later.
Hal Blondeau scored 447 points for the season.



Coach Guerrette: "I think we had the best basketball team in Glen Burnie history. I mean the best from a team standpoint. Glen Burnie may have had better personnel in other years, but the boys I had this year really played together. This year's team gave everything it had."

1961 Starters: George Law, John Newbill, Jim Parsons, John Law, Hal Blondeau, Coach Dick Guerrette, Assistant Coach, Ade Duvall.

1952 State Semi-Finalist

Final Record: 14 - 4
Hagerstown defeated the Gophers 55-46 in the Semi-Final game at Maryland's Ritchie Coliseum.

1947 State Semi-Finalist

Final Record: 16 - 1
Sparrows Point defeated the Gophers 39 - 19 in the Semi-Final game played at the Baltimore City College gym.
The 1947 team was the first GB team to go undefeated in the regular season and win the County Championship.
Willard Thackston set a county record by scoring 30 points in one game.
A team record was set when the Gophers defeated Edgewood 124 - 25.
Roy Klingenberg, a guard, was the high scorer for the season with 199 points.
